EL CAMPO, TX - Bobbie Davenport, 54, of El Campo, TX, formerly of Pelzer, passed away on August 11, 2008.
Born on April 3, 1954 in Akron, Ohio, she was Chief Nursing Officer at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton, TX and retired in 2003. She was a member of the Sunshine Ladies, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Order of the Eastern Star, the National Honor Society of Sigma Theta GAU International Society of Nursing, and Chi Omega at Clemson University. She taught Sunday School, served on numerous committees at the First Baptist Church of El Campo, and was very active in the Republican Party.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Davenport of El Campo, TX; mother, Lorraine Owens Garrett of El Campo, TX; son, Brett Davenport and his fiancé Nicole Bautista of Houston, TX; daughter, Amanda Davenport of El Campo, TX; stepdaughter, Tami Davenport Elliott and her husband Jason of Huntsville, TX; and grandchildren, Taylor Davenport, Jayce Elliott, and Jalyn Elliott.
She was predeceased in death by her father, Perry B. Garrett; and brother, Donald P. Garrett.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 14, in El Campo, TX.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. August 16 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.
