Thad Wilmer Bennett

Thad Wilmer Bennett, 79, passed away April 13, 2002,
at his residence in La Marque, Texas. He was born April 5, 1923, in Lumpkin, Georgia, to Clarence and Lillie Bennett. Thad served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard; worked in the shipyards as a sheet metal worker; was a member of the Texas City Radio Control Club, loved building and flying his model airplanes; and he also enjoyed metal detecting.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of James Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Surviving Mr. Bennett is his wife, Catherine; his daughters, Gloria Jean Harms and husband, Lon, Patricia K. Head and husband, Ken, Terry Mae Taylor and husband,
Johnny; step-daughter, Donna Kaye Bird; step-son, Chuck Brown; sister, Mae Medley and two brothers, Max Bennett and wife, Betty and Robert Maxey and wife, Shirley. Also surviving are five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Head, Donnie Head, Jay Harms, Jeffery Harms, Jason Brown, Kevin Bird, Todd Bird and Brian Verdin.
