Although Mr. Bauknecht had been ailing with a heart condition for nearly four years, he maintained his interest in golfing and fishing up to recent weeks.

Born at Manitowoc Mr. Bauknecht was born at Manitowoc on Dec. 3, 1885, a son of the late Henry and Christina Sundt Bauknecht. He was educated in the Manitowoc schools and when he was a youth he commuted between his home there and Two Rivers while working at the old Mann Brothers Pail Factory. During this period he took correspondence courses in accounting, coming to Two Rivers to make his home

Interested in Boy Scout work in the earlier days, Mr. Baukenecht was the scoutmaster of the first troop sponsored by St. Luke parish nearly 30 years ago. Active in bowling for nearly 50 years, he was an outstanding competitor in the activity here for many years. In later years he became interested in golfing and fishing.

Mr. Bauknecht, a past president of the Hamilton Bowling League, was also affiliated with the Hamilton Foreman's Club, the Hamilton "30-Year Club," the Two Rivers Council 1957, Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society of St. Luke Church, the Third Order of St. Francis and the Cocobola Camp of the Modern Woodmen of America.

Married in 1908 Besides his wife, the former Margaret Dahm, whom he married in Two Rivers in 1908, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Matt F. C. Konop, Mrs. Gordon Doolan and Mrs. Gregory Hallada of Two Rivers; six sons, Francis A. and Floyd of Two Rivers, Lyle of Manitowoc, Robert of Park Forest, Ill., John of Fond du Lac and Richard Bauknecht of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Schaefer and Mrs. Ben Hansen of Manitowoc; two brothers, Albert of Milwaukee and Arthur Bauknecht of Akron, Ohio; and 32 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Three Rosaries will be recited at the funeral home Tuesday night, the first for the Knights of Columbus at 7 o'clock, another for the Third Order of St. Francis at 7:30 and for the family at 8 o'clock.
