Marie Elise Theune Hayes, passed away in Winchester, Va. on April 29, 2015 under the care of Blue Ridge Hospice. Born May 13, 1927 in Brooklyn New York, she was the first of her family born in America. She was the last of her immediate family. Marie was a successful and determined lady, always volunteering and loved by all. Besides raising her family, she was a skilled nurse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Herman Ludwig Theune (1895-1973) and Ottilie Anna Hartmann Theune (1895-1979) and brothers Adalbert Theune (1921-2005), Hans Gerhard Daniel Theune (1922-2011) and Ehrhardt Theune (1923-2003) and a daughter Margaret Shunk. She leaves behind her children, Linda Bunch of Virginia, Stephen Hayes of Alabama, Martha Thompson of West Virginia, Phillip Hayes and Lauren of Florida, Roger Hayes and Carla of Arkansas. She had 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. We miss you as you move onto a greater life.
