Brunswick, ME – Arthur Marshall Johnson, 54, of Brunswick and formerly of Zephyrhills, FL died peacefully after a period of declining health on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Mid Coast Hospital.

Arthur was born on September 10, 1957 in Springfield, MA a son of the late Richard A. Johnson and Jane E. (Miller) Johnson of Brunswick. He grew up in Hampden and North Andover, MA and after finishing school he traveled the continental US for several years before settling in Florida, where he met Patricia Napora, the mother of his three children.

While in Florida, Arthur began a career as a finish carpenter, working for Manuel Construction. He later brought his talents to New Hampshire and began his own business.

He was an avid hunter and member of the North American Hunting Club and the Wildlife Federation. Due to his extensive travels, Arthur became quite the storyteller. He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, the twinkle in his eye and the love of his children and family.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his son Patrick A. Johnson of Burke, VA; his two daughters Jeannette D. Johnson of Evart, MI and Elizabeth W. Napora of Big Rapids, MI and his three grandchildren Haylee, Jake and William. He also leaves his three sisters Lynn D. Johnson of Brunswick, Susan L. Johansson and her husband Peter of Salem, NH and Nancy E. Johnson and her husband Geoff of Topsham, ME as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Jarl R. Johnson who died September 1, 2001.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 981 Forest Ave. Portland, ME.
