Jeffrey Michael Kosmala

ROCHESTER - Jeffrey Michael Kosmala, 52, of Rochester and formerly of Allegany departed our world on Friday (July 5, 2013) after a valiant battle with diabetes and cancer.

Jeff was born Aug. 3, 1960, in Buffalo to James M. and Susan F. Kosmala. He was a 1978 graduate of Allegany Central School, attended Alfred State College and graduated from Clarkson University with a bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering. He was employed by the Monroe County Department of Human Services & Public Health as senior public health engineer.

Jeff was a kind, fun, humble soul who knew how to work hard and play hard. He enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, New York City, and especially Disney. Most importantly he loved his family, friends and co-workers and was beloved by them. He is sadly missed.

Surviving besides his parents of Allegany are his siblings, Lynn (Mike) Oeser, Sharon Notaro, Jim (Eileen) Kosmala, Kristy (Rich) Anderson and Amy (Ed) Nemitz; many aunts and uncles; eight nephews, five nieces, three grandnephews and two grandnieces.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benedict and Leona Kosmala, Peter and Ann Santa Lucia, and Raymond Bielinski; and a young nephew, Andy Kosmala.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday (July 19, 2013) at St. Bonaventure Church at 10 a.m. The Rev. James Vacco, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Relay For Life /American Cancer Association or to the American Diabetes Association .
