Vernon Elam, age 83 of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at VA Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Faye Elam; two children, Patricia Pierce and husband Michael, Roger Elam and wife Cheryl, both of Corbin, Kentucky;
sisters, Margie Proffitt and Gwen Floyd;
brother, Eddie Elam;
grandchildren, Michelle Finley, Adrian Rains, Sarah Hensley, Bryan Elam, Lindsey Elam, Amber Kittoe, Cody Pierce;
great-grandchildren, Shelby Huff, Jamie Huff, Macie Finley, Kira Rains, Destiney Rains, Addison Rains, Tristen Hensley, Whaylon Hensley, Memphis Hensley, Hannah Kittoe, Hayleigh Kittoe, Camden Pierce; great-great grandchild, Emma Trace Asayesh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lee & Sarah Jane Williams Elam; six sisters and three brothers. Funeral services for Vernon Elam will be conducted on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bobby Helton, Monnie Stratton and Anthony Hensley officiating.
Burial will follow at Snuffer Cemetery.
