PETERSBURG -- A. Eileen Shockey, 78, of Petersburg died at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Born June 1, 1920, in Petersburg to Harris and Addie Pratt Osborne, she married Rudolph Shockey. He died May 26, 1987. One son and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Jan Shirley of Athens and Sue Fierce of Auburn; two sons, Jerry of Springfield and Rodney of Oakford; one brother, James Osborne of Petersburg; one sister, Sally Jo Moss of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She worked at Menard Service Co. for 30 years before retiring.

She was a member of the Methodist Church of Petersburg and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Petersburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. The Rev. Daryl Fansler will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Memorials may be made to Menard B.L.S. or Petersburg Fire Department.
