Another Ex-Confederate Passes Away.
Mr. R.F. Abshier, a highly respected citizen of the Strickler neighborhood, died shortly after 9 o'clock last night from the effects of paralysis. Mr. Abshier was first stricken with this disease about five years ago, which gradually grew upon him and finally caused his death, but he bore all of his suffering with much patience and Christian fortitude.
Deceased was about 71 years of age; was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. During the war he was a gallant soldier in the Confederate army. He moved to this county about 35 years ago from Searcy County.
His remains will be buried this afternoon in the graveyard at W.H. Scott's.
