Mrs. A.E. Abel passes away at the age of 91
CAME TO FOND DU LAC IN 1855
Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Abel, aged 91 years and a resident of Fond du Lac for the past sixty-five years, died at 3:45 this morning at her home, 256 Doty street.
She was born in Germany Sept. 25, 1829. In 1855 she came to the United States, coming directly to Fond du Lac. She was married to Fred Abel Aug. 15, 1856, and has lived all these years in the same house where she died and where she and Mr. Abel celebrated both their silver and gold anniversaries. Mr. Abel died Sept. 2, 1911. Mrs. Abel, was the oldest member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and was the last of the charter members of that church.
Mrs. Abel leaves three daughters, Mrs. Albert Eberhardt,Mrs. John Geve, Mrs. Herman Michler, one son Thomas Abel; eight grandchildren;three great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Paulus of Chilton. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from St. Peter's Church. The Rev. G.E. Bergemann will officiate and burial will be in Rienzi cemetery. Private funeral services will be conducted at the residence at 1:30.
