Joseph C. Strathmann, age 66, of 810 S. 33rd St., Manitowoc, died Thursday evening, July 18, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 22, 1996, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 1 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Ronald Reimer with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

He was born May 13, 1930, in Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph and Pauline Muchowski Strathmann. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School class of 1950 and was a veteran having served in the United States Army from July of 1951 until July of 1953. On June 14, 1958, he married the former Marlene Gerl at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Joe was employed with Imperial Eastman Company for 32 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the St. Paul Adoration Society.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Strathmann, Manitowoc; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kathanie Strathmann, Manitowoc, Mark Strathmann, at home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Jeff Bast, Beaver Dam, Jean and Wayne Tess, Manitowoc, Judy Strathmann, at home; three grandchildren, Ryan Bast, Matthew and Jenessa Strathmann; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Grace and Francis Blahnik, Manitowoc, Ethel Walters, Manitowoc; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Mark Sedlacek, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles and Jeanette Strathmann, PaulStrathmann, and two sisters, Marie Strathmann and Mildred Jocis.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 1996, and Monday until the time of services. A Rosary service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church led by the Adoration Society and friends of Joe.

Memorials would be appreciated in Joe's name to Roncalli High School.

Our family would like to thank Dr. Barylak and his staff at Manitowoc Clinic, the staff at Shady Lane for their care and concern for Joe the last two months and the Oncology Unit at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for being there for us over the past year. We would also like to say a special thank you to the Sisters at Holy Family Convent for their prayers and support.
