Orlean S. Vnuk, age 83, formerly of 1433 Elder Drive, Manitowoc, currently of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

She was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Charles and Isabel (Tepoorten) Bartel. On Sept. 6, 1941, she married Marvin S. Vnuk at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Orlean was a lifetime member of St. Francis of Assisi.

Survivors include her husband: Marvin Vnuk, Manitowoc; five children: Richard and Judy Vnuk; Sandra and William Gospodarek; Sue Ann and Kenneth Klein; Thomas and Judy Vnuk; James and Judy Vnuk, all of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren: Robb Klein, Manitowoc; Daryl (Ellen) Gospodarek, Rosemount, Minn.; Dale and Jenna Gospodarek, Vinton, Va.; Dawn (Dan) Curran, Oconto Falls; Darren Klein, Manitowoc; Kelly (Sean) Murphy, Grayslake, Ill.; Sara Vnuk, Manitowoc; Heidi (Jason) Gauthier, Manitowoc; Melissa Klein (special friend Matt), Manitowoc; two step-grandchildren: Jesse (Bevin) Brott, Oregon City, Ore.; Tracy Brott, Onalaska; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Art Vnuk, Milwaukee; Roger Krause, Bradenton, Fla., and a sister-in-law: Eve Vnuk, Bradenton, Fla. Many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a son: Ronald, on Oct. 10, 1961; three brothers: Charles, Leroy and Melvin Bartel; two sisters: Isabel Griener and Delores Bartel; three brothers-in-law: Ray and Harold Vnuk; Joe Griener; and two sisters-in-law: Leonore Krause and Dorothy Bartel.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006, until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dan Dewane with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
