Son of Johannes Shufford and Mary Clare Conrad. Husband of Eve Catherine Warlick. He was a farmer until the Revolutionary War when he was recruited by the British. He was killed in a battle at Ramsour's Mill now located in Lincolnton, North Carolina, on June 20, 1780.
