JOSEPH ZBORALSKI
(1875 - 1931)

J. ZBORALSKI DIES AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS
Death of Seventh Ward Dance Hall Owner Occurs at Hospital Last Night

Joseph M. Zboralski, 56, for 31 years actively identified with the business life of the Seventh ward and the city of Manitowoc, died at the Holy Family hospital last night after an illness of only a week's duration. His death occurred 25 years to the day after the death of his brother-in-law, Alderman Joseph Burry, also actively interested in business and political affairs of the city a quarter of a century ago.

For many years Mr. Zboralski conducted a saloon and dance hall at Twenty-second and Marshall streets, erecting the two buildings shortly after his marriage and when still a young man of 25 years of age. His establishments were among the most popular in the vicinity and enjoyed an unusual patronage for many years.

Came Here as Youth
Born in Germany on October 7, 1875, the deceased came to this country and directly to Manitowoc when a boy. He was married on May 4, 1895 to Miss Mary Burry who with two daughters, Mrs. Leonard Garry and Miss Ester, this city; four sons, Victor, Alex, Anton and Ben, all of Manitowoc; three brothers, Frank and John of Manitowoc and Peter of Milwaukee; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Milford, Manitowoc; Mrs. Joseph Reiber, New Castle, Penn., and Mrs. Mildred Sunne of Milwaukee survives him. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Although one of the best known and most active men of the city during his career, Mr. Zboralski's interests were largely confined to his business, home and church and his only affiliation was with the St. Stanislaus society of the St. Mary's church.

Burial on Saturday
The remains of Mr. Zboralski are now at the undertaking establishment of the Shimek & Schwartz company on N. Eighth street and will be removed to the home at 2202 Marshall street at 7 o'clock this evening.

Funeral services will be held from the residence at 8:30 o'clock and from St. Mary's church at 9 o'clock Saturday morning with the Rev. J.M. Pociecha officiating. Interment will take place at Calvary cemetery.
