Johnathan W. Conner son of Richard and Priscilla Conner was born in Harrison County Penn, Jan 22, 1818. He moved to Monroe County Ohio when he was 8 years old. He later grew into manhood and married Mary Jane Mathey on Sept 18, 1840, and to this union two sons were born, Adam M., and John Will. After the death of his wife he married Mary Jane Addudle on April 4, 1850.To this union six sons and two daughters were born. Richard A., and Joseph E., Thomas C., Sarah P., Benjamin J., Stephen J., George E., and Lucinda Jane. Mr. Conner joined the Methodist Church in 1867. He moved with his family in a covered wagon to Garfield county, Nebraska April 4, 1888. He had been afflicted with cancer for 24 years and suffered ten thoudand deaths as no man that was not a Christian could have endured. He was a kind and loving father and devoted husband and a good neighbor. He passed away into the arms of Christ on March 8, 1891. He leaves to mourn his aged wife, seven sons, two daughters, fourteen grandchildren, two brothers, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn his departure, although out loss is his gain. He was 73 years, 1 month and 14 days old. Funeral services were held at the house of the deceased.
