Mrs. Hazel Kretser, 71, of 51 Main St., Fort Plain, died Wednesday morning at Little Falls Hospital where she had been admitted Monday.
Born in Canajoharie on May 14, 1910, the daughter of Xavier and Amanda Van Duesen Muhlebeck, she was a lifelong resident and had been employed at Luxaray Inc., Fort Plain, for more than 40 years, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a former member and presently honorary member of the South Minden Fire
Department Ladies' Auxiliary. She was an active bowler in a number of local leagues.
She was married to Robert Kretser July 26, 1941. He died June 16, 1965.
Surviving are a son, Ralph Muhlebeck, Fort Plain RD 3; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Cook, Cherry Valley RD 1; a brother, Robert Muhlebeck, Nelliston; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Bundy, Fort Plain RD 3., Mrs. Carmeta Aspinwall, Springfield Center, and Mrs. Mabel Wheeler, Gloversville; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Swartz Funeral Home Inc., with Rev. Kenneth Dingman, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment was made in Fort Plain Cemetery. The South Minden Ladies' Auxiliary conducted services at 7:30 p.m.
