Robert Young Brereton, 89, of Turlock, passed away at Casa de Modesto. He was born to William and Madeline Brereton in Framingham, Massachusetts.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his son, William Brereton, brother, Gordon Brereton, sisters, Rene Barber, Dorothy Brereton, and former wife, Gladine Jackson.

Bob is survived by his sister, Barbara Norton; loving sons, Alyn Brereton (Kris), John Brereton (Janice), and Ted Brereton (Debbie); grandchildren, Alex Brereton, Eric Brereton, Courtney Lorenzo, Lindsay Brereton, Holly Caplan, Julie Criscella; and nine great grandchildren.

He worked for the TID for 45 years at Turlock Lake where he raised his family.

He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and volunteered for the Air Force ground observers for several years.

He was a proud member of the Masons for over 50 years. His favorite pastimes were golf, dancing, airplanes and watching the Giants, Red Sox, and Indy 500.

Bob's greatest pride and joy in life was raising his four sons and being a part of their families.

A Funeral Service will be held at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, October 2nd at 10 am.

Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
