Sarah Norris, 82, Last Rites Were Held November 8
Funeral services for Mrs. Albert (Sarah Ella) Norris, 82, of Bedford, held November 8 in Shum-Novinger Funeral Home here were conducted by Rev. James Nelson. Mrs. Norris died November 5, 1980 in Bethesda Care Center in Clarinda. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.
Sarah Ella Norris, daughter of George Abbott and Sarah Ann Bailey, was born near Hopkins, Missouri on April 22, 1898.
She lived in the Siam Community and grew to maturity in Taylor County where she attended the country school.
In 1913 she was united in marriage to Walter S. Manley, at the Siam church. To this union two children were born: Orville Lee Manley of Siam and Grover Wilbur Manley of Kansas City, Missouri.
In 1919 she was married to Albert Norris. To this union five children were born: Gerald, Frank, George and Wandalene, all of Bedford, and Arlo of San Ramon, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and two brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her children; sisters; Stella Dollinger and Pearl Pierce, both of Galesburg, Illinois; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; cousins; other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was a kind and considerate mother, grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
