Robert LaVerne Acha was born March 17, 1926 in Pontiac. He married Violet "Fritz" Brandt May 29, 1948. They shared 65 years together and she survives him. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a 1st Scout in the infantry. He retired as a police sergeant from the City of Saginaw. Bob enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed home renovations and spending time at casinos.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons and one daughter; Bobby (Vickie) Acha, Gary (Chris) Acha, Michael (Beverly) Acha, and Terri Wulf, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many other loving family members and many friends. Bob was predeceased by three brothers and one sister; David, Norma, Verne, and Dick.

Funeral service will take place 11:00 AM Friday October 4, 2013 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd. (S. M-47). Rev. Robert Richards will officiate with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors under the auspices of VFW Post 1859 will take place at the cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and one hour before the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial offering to the charity of your choice.
