Our sweet, sweet mother, Irene Colosimo Mirabelli, died September 29, 2013 at her home while surrounded by her family. (How fitting that this was the anniversary date of Josephine Mirabelli, her sister-in-law and adored friend).

Born May 5, 1920 in La Junta, Colorado to Antonio and Adelina Colosimo.

Irene married Oreste (Reese) Mirabelli on July 3, 1949 and together they raised their family in Salt Lake City.

Irene was an amazing homemaker and fabulous cook. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, her greatest joy was her family. Irene cared deeply for everyone she knew. She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of others, and her gentle ways. She is known by many as the "Angel Lady."

A devout Catholic, Irene was a member of Saint Ann Catholic Church for over sixty years. She had an unwavering faith in God, saying the Rosary, and praying to the Infant of Prague each day.

Irene fought long and hard to stay alive for her family: Ron, Sherrie, Rose, Richard, Chantel, Shane, Krystal, Dominick, Justin, Candie, Melissa, Jared, Kayden, Brenden, Kysen, Josue, and Daniella. Also survived by her dear sister, Mary Langley; brother-in-law, Mario Mirabelli; many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5, 2013; Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Ann Church, 450 East 2100 South. Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Committal: Mount Calvary Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.

"Our mother was truly an angel here on earth".
