Joseph William "Billy" Ledford Jr., 61 Everetts Lane, died at 9:42 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a long illness.
Services were held at the First Christian Church with Revs. Ron Buck, Roy Stauffer and Micki McHugh officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Hughart and Beard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
A native of Christian County, he was born Feb. 3, 1945, the son of the late Joseph William and Hazel Ruth Cranor Ledford.
He was a long-time employee of West State Construction Company. He had been a baseball and basketball player at Christian County High School and Bethel College in McKenzie Tenn.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and a former deacon.
A son, Joseph William "Joey" Ledford III, died in 1995.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Ledford; two daughters, Amy Ledford Logsdon, Crestwood, Saralyn Ledford, Lexington; a brother, Robert Marion Ledford, Hopkinsville and two grandchildren.
