Survivors include his parents, Bert and Dawn; brother, Shawn (Jackie) Aberle; sister, Alida (Jeremy) Kolthoff; nephew, Carson Aberle; niece, Gretchen Aberle; girlfriend, Laura Moorman; grandparents, Myron and Jane Aberle, and Willard and Jeanne Carson; Great-grandmother, Rose Mitzel; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friends "Uncle" Gerald and Janet Fangman.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Angel Gericke.
Nich was born September 12, 1993, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Bert and Dawn (Carson) Aberle. He was a 2012 graduate of North Linn High School in Troy Mills and was currently a student at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker. More than anything, Nich liked to earn money; he was a hard worker and enjoyed working on the farm. He liked to go four wheeling with his aunts, brother, and sister. He also enjoyed playing basketball and hanging out with Laura, Nick and Tori. Nich had a special fondness for Oreos and Oreo fluff. He said many times: "you don't use double stuffed Oreos for Oreo fluff, because that is a waste of a good Oreo."
Nich encouraged people to go after their dreams. He didn't tell you what you wanted to hear, he told you what you needed to know.
