Allan R. Bush Dies March 17 Williamsburg Township-
Allan R. Bush, a former resident of Smiths Falls, died at the house of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr and Mrs. George A. Casselman, Second Concession of Williamsburg Township on March 17 [1943]. Mr. Bush was born at Bush Glen, December 3, 1860, the eldest son of the late Henry Bush and his wife Rachel Wert.
He was married in 1879 to Lucinda Gallinger AKA: GOLINGER (1855-1894) Lucinda and Allan (AKA: Allen)had 2 daughters:
1. Bertha J. BUSH B: 1881
2. Pearl BUSH B: 1885
In 1910 he married Christena Murch, (AKA: Muich in 1901 census, AKA: Merek in 1911 census. Christena was of Cornwall, who died in 1927.Her first name is spelled Christina Muich in 1901 census.She has 6 children and Allan R. Bush is recorded as single and living as her boarder.
In 1911 Census she is Christeena and married to Allan Bush and has three of her six children with them. Here she spells the surname Merek.
He leaves to mourn his loss, one brother, Rev. Frank R. Bush, of Chicago, Illinois, one daughter Mrs. George A. Casselman (PEARL) and a step daughter Mrs. Leonard McDonald of Cornwall. Two sisters predeceased him, Mrs. Hez Gallinger, AKA: Gullinger, AKA: Gallingher of Finch in 1937 and Annie Bush who died a Missionary in India, in 1895. One daughter Bertha died at 17 years of age at Bush Glen in 1897, 3 years after her Mamma died.
The funeral services were held on Friday, Mar 19, at the W. O. Lane funeral home, Aultsville, Ontario by Rev. A. F. Buehlow, of St. John's Lutheran Church, Riverside. The body was placed in the vault at Woodlands to away burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in the Spring. Pall Bearers were Walter J. Cheley, Frank T. Shaver, James Young and George Henophy. Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard McDonald, of Cornwall, Capt. Charles Casselman, Mrs. Samuel Casselman, Mr and Mrs Lorne Casselman, and Miss Audrey Casselman of Morrisburg.
