Mrs. Bishop was born near this city on June 21, 1857; and had passed most of her life here and at Detroit. She was a member of the first graduating class of the Wyandotte high school. For many years she had been active in the church and social life of the city. With her husband, she gave to the Congregational society its beautiful church edifice on Superior Boulevard, and has always taken a great interest in the work of the church.
Her club affiliations included membership in the Women's City club and Twentieth Century club of Detroit, the Tuesday Study club and Gateway Garden club of Wyandotte.
Her benefactions and neighborly deeds of kindness were confined to no denomination or social statum.
Mrs. Bishop's parents were Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Clark, pioneer Wyandotte residents. She was a daughter of the Revolution and a Daughter of the War of 1812. Her grandfather was a colonel in the War of 1812. She was also a member of the Michigan Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome H. Bishop; a brother Everett N. Clark, of Los Angeles, Calif., former Wyandotte postmaster and mayor; a sister, Mrs. Milton R. Wood of Sugarland, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Albert H. Gilmer of West Bedford, Mass., and Miss Della Bishop of this city; and two sons, Jerome H. Bishop of Pasadena, Calif., and Clark W. Bishop of Wyandotte.
Funeral services were held at the family home on Biddle avenue, at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. H. N. Jackson of the First Congregational church. The remains were taken to Woodmere cemetery for burial.
