CANTON -- Jessie T. Adams, 94, of 145 S. 17th, formerly of 419 N. Third Ave., died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1996, at her home.
Born Nov. 29, 1901, in Lewistown to Nathan and Bertha Johnson Miller, she married Claude C. Adams on June 21, 1930, in Canton. He died Aug. 17, 1973. One brother also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Gary Lee Adams, and two brothers, Arthur and Robert Miller, all of Canton; and three grandchildren.
In 1922, she graduated from Western Teacher's College in Macomb. She taught school in Fulton County for several years.
She was active with the American Red Cross, Fulton County chapter, and was a Gray Lady at Graham Hospital for many years.
She was served on Canton Museum Board and was a licensed amateur radio operator.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Murphy- Sedgwick Memorial Home. The Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the memorial home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Canton Christian School.
