She was born May 10, 1934, in Apple River, to Alfred and Margaret (Gille) Daters.
She grew up in Warren and attended Warren High School. She married Roger Pickett of Darlington, Wis., in 1952.
She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed animals, and treasured her time with family. She enjoyed a spirited debate and loved to laugh.
She was a treasure and was cherished by all that knew her; she will be greatly missed and grieved by many.
She was well-known in the community for working at several area restaurants, and she worked at Cub Foods for 17 years. She was an X-ray technician and worked at the Opera House in Chicago.
She was a dedicated member and served on the Board of Directors for the Alano Club, where she was rewarded with fellowship and spirituality.
She is survived by her loving children, Connie Pickett of Woodstock, Mona (Dino Smola) Pickett of Wonder Lake, Bill (Yvonne) Pickett of Cary, Michele Lindholm of Crystal Lake and Sharon (Greg) Dolderer of Kirkland; her loved ones, David (Janet) Dougherty of Villa Park and Shawn Dougherty of Crystal Lake; her sister, Juanita Burke of Gratiot; her sister-in-law, Marva Daters of DuQuoin; her grandchildren, Sean (Joanne) Wilhelmi, Gretchen (Joe) White, Jennifer (David Rabadan) Baker, Rachael (Bryan) Shebeck-Tonn, Derek (Theresa) Hilgenberg, Aaron Pickett, Allison (Thomas Carmody) Pickett, Andrew Pickett, Alicia Dolderer, Amanda Dolderer and Carrie Lindholm; and her great-grandchildren, Brady Hilgenberg, Ethan Rabadan, Ben Carmody, Kendall White, Aiden Rabadan, Quinn White, Jade Mickelwright and Anika Tonn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her beloved son, David Pickett; her parents, Alfred and Margaret Daters; her brother, Bill Daters; and her dear companion, Jim Skeen.
