Levi J. FAUCETT, for many years a leading business man and representative citizen of Bloomfield, died at his home on East Main street Sunday morning.

Mr. Faucett had been in ill health for many months and Wednesday of last week suffered a stroke of apoplexy which resulted in his death.

Levi J. FAUCETT was the son of Abel J. and Almira FELLOWS FAUCETT and was a descendent of two of the oldest pioneer families of Greene county, to which part of the state his grandparents, both paternal and maternal migrated in an early day.

He was born near Bloomfield on the 27th day of July 1843. His early education was received in the county schools. In early manhood he entered Moore's Hill College, where he pursued his studies until 1869, when he became a partner of his father in the milling business, in which business he continued actively engaged during his business career. For many years he operated a mill at Mineral City. The plant was subsequently moved to Bloomfield and was conducted until 1908 when it was remodeled and equipped for the manufacture of chairs and was the beginning of the plant now in operation here and in which Mr. Faucet's son is still interested.

Mr. Faucett was a veteran of the Civil war, having, in February 1865 enlisted in Company C, One Hundred and Forty-seventh Indiana Infantry with which he served until mustered out the following August.

On December 27, 1871 he was united in marriage to Susan ASHTON, daughter of Joseph and Marinda (PRATHER) ASHTON, who survives her husband. He is also survived by the following children: J.A. FAUCETT and Read FAUCETT, of Morgantown; Charles FAUCETT, of Indianapolis; Wendell FAUCETT, of Martinsville; Frank F. FAUCETT, of Spokane, Wash; Mrs. Charles BIRCHFIELD, of Newark, Ohio; and Mrs. Leo LETSINGER, of this place.

The funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon at the family residence and were in charge of the Rev. E. D. ALDRICH, pastor of the Methodist church of this city and Rev. H.H. ALLEN, of Martinsville, a former pastor of the local church.
