William Perry Abbott, 82, died suddenly at his home in Nancy last Friday.


The son of the late John and Lucinda Martin Abbott, Mr. Abbott was born May 2, 1873. He married Martha McClendon and seven children were born to this union. Two children preceded him in death.


Mr. Abbott was saved at an early age and joined the White Oak Baptist Church. He remained a loyal and faithful member of that church until his death. A devoted father and husband and a loyal and kind friend, Mr. Abbott left a great number of friends who mourn his death.


Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Flora Tarter, Eubank, and Mrs. Anna Tarter, Nancy; three sons, Avery Abbott, Mansfield, Illinois, Elmer Abbott and Ray Abbott, both of Nancy; one sister, Mrs. Leona Barlow, New Lisbon, Indiana; and 13 grandchildren.


Funeral services were held Sunday at the White Oak Baptist Church. The Rev. G.F. Crumley conducted the services. Burial was in the White Oak Cemetery.
