Lillie was born on June 28, 1930 in Rockdale, TX to the late Vastine Adams and Minnie Sullivan. She had lived in Abilene since 1955 and married Edward Hunter in 1984. Lillie had worked for the Abilene State School for 27 years, the Fashion Lane for seven years and for Dr. Fourment for nine years. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. Lillie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, John W. Phillips and Jackie Phillips; and two sisters, Annie Whitaker and Versie Whitaker.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Hunter of Abilene; her son, Ivory Phillips of Ft. Worth; her daughter, Loretta Leonard of Abilene; a sister, Doris Dukes of Abilene; grandchildren, Timacka, Nathan, Jackie Jr., Janniell, Jacqueline, Mike, and Regis; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Hendrick Hospice, 1682 Hickory St., Abilene, TX 79601.
