Ethus Burton, prominent merchant and farmer, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16. His death was not entirely unexpected as he had been ill for several weeks. Two weeks before he died he professed faith in Christ and expressed a wish that he might live longer to be a Christian. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Amy Burton; three children, Geneva, Bernice, and Gordon; an aged mother, Mrs. Joyce Burton; two brothers, Rufus and Luke of Monticello; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Shepperd of Trimble and Mrs. Vess Bell of Bud; and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was a splendid gentleman and will be greatly missed by the community in which he lived. We extend sympathy to the bereaved ones in their sad hour.
