They were the parents of one daughter, Linda Lanelle Hoch. They moved to Houston County in 1949, where Uncle Troy along with his brother, owned and operated the Hoch Bros Gin in Grapeland, and Linda began school. Aunt Mildred managed the Gin office. The Gin was moved to St Lawrence in west Texas in the early '60s. Also in operation was another Gin near Taft, which was destroyed by Hurricane Carla. Linda finished school in this community. The remains of the old Gin still stand in Grapeland.
They both continued to operate the Gin until they retired. After retirement he continued to farm cotton and enjoyed traveling in their RV into his late eighties. Uncle Troy was a Deacon in the Baptist Church for 60 years. When they were no longer able to travel, they moved to Kerrville.
Uncle Troy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Forest, Floyd and John Junior Hoch, and his nephew Donald Hoch.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Mildred Newsom Hoch and daughter Linda Hoch of Kerrville; nephews and nieces, Buzz & Betty Hoch of Grapeland, Rock & Darlene Hoch of Latexo, Michael & Melissa Hoch of Garden City, Billy & Carol Anne Hoch of Latexo, Robert Lynn & Sonya Hoch of Grapeland, George Charles Hoch of California and John William Hoch II of Coppersas Cove, Scott and Mary Hoch of Albuquerque, NM; and Nancy Lee Hoch of Huntington; grandnieces, Kristi, Paige, Amy, Michelle, Jessica, Sarah, Diana, Stacey and Eva Lynne & Amy and grandnephews, Jeffrey, Casey, Forest, Brent, Brian, Jeremy, Ryan, Jamie, Jerrod and Rocky Allen Hoch and their families.
Funeral services were held at the Grimes Funeral Home Chapel in Kerrville with Rocky Allen Hoch officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Yoakum, Texas. Pallbearers: Nephews
