Guffie attended Lucama School. After completing High School, Guffie worked for the Atlantic Coast Line and AM Tracks until retirement.
Guffie accepted Christ at an early age. And in 1942 Guffie met and married Effie Harper Baines.
Guffie was a loving, kind and devoted husband, and friend. Guffie would help anyone that he could. Guffie enjoyed home cooked meals with family and friends.
Guffie is survived by his devoted wife, Effie Harper Baines; one brother, Jake Baines Sr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
