Carroll Keppler "Cub" Bair died at the age of 85 on Wednesday, March 23, 1988, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He was born in Harrisburg on September 19, 1902, the son of August and Lela Smith Bair.

He married Irene Ledford in 1924.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; one daughter, Carol Madden of Carbondale; one brother Dr. Hugo Bair of Rochester, Minnesota; and one grandchild.

Mr. Bair was a retired Civil Engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation, and had owned Bair Brothers Jewelers in Harrisburg. He had also been a professional swing musician.
