Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cynthia A. (Cole) Wersosky; a daughter, Christine E. Duncan of Portsmouth, VA; a son, Michael J. Wersosky II and his wife Laura of Virginia Beach, VA; and one grandchild, Kaydence Christine Wersosky. He is also survived by his parents, John and Helen Wersosky of Venice, FL, formally of Dover, NH; two sisters, Catherine Strever of Dahlonega, GA and Martha Haley of Dover, NH; and one brother, Joseph Wersosky of Mechanicsville, PA.
The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel in Suffolk, VA on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at the Church of St. Therese in Chesapeake, with the family receiving friends beginning at 11:30 a.m. A military funeral honors ceremony will immediately follow the service at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk starting at 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ALS Association, Walk to Defeat ALS, in the name of "Mike's Dream Team" at www.alsa.org.
