Irene Catherine Bishop, age 96, a resident at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Saturday evening, March 15, 2008, at the home.
She was born March 13, 1912, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Walter and Veronica (Skrzyczynski) Bishop. Irene was employed with Mirro Aluminum Company, Manitowoc, in the packing department, retiring in 1974. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and the Manitowoc Senior Center. Irene recited the rosary on a daily basis. She was an avid Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan. Irene loved to feed her birds and enjoyed watching them.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews and friends. Irene was also preceded in death by three brothers: Alois, Edward and Joseph Bishop; four sisters: Mary Brotski, Frances Ploczynski, Theresa Meiller and Agnes Blanchett.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen. Cremation has occurred and Irene's cremated remains will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
