Alvis Marion Taylor Jr., 71, of Russellville, departed this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2006,

The only son of the late Alvis Marion Taylor Sr. and Lillie Sarah Birge Taylor,

He was born October 31, 1934 in Pottsville.

He attended Pottsville Schools.

He married Miss Mildred Beaver on Aug. 16th. 1951 at Pottsville,Arkansas. By his brother - in - law, Rev. Archie Miller.

He was an automobile mechanic and, with his wife, Mildred, operated the Lion, Red Bird, Freeway, and Exxon service stations in Russellville.

He was a member of the Pottsville Assembly of God where he was active in the children's ministry.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Marian Lynnette Renfroe, and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Mildred Taylor; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Marjeana Taylor of Pottsville; seven grandchildren: Josh and Jeremy Renfroe, Shawn Clayton, Deidra and Brandy McDaniels, Laranda Reed and Allen Engles; and eight great-grandchildren.

His funeral was held at 10 A.M., Saturday at the Pottsville Assembly of God officiated by Rev. Larry Horn and Rev. Robert Holland.

Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery at Pottsville by Shinn Funeral Service.
