Rockey DeWitt the son of Billy Eugene DeWitt and Evelyn (Stringer) DeWitt was born in the back seat of a car on the way to Houston, Missouri. Rockey passed away at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, Saturday, June 1, 2013 making his age 57 years 9 months and 1 day.

Rockey was united in marriage to Mary Terrill DeWitt. To their union 6 children were born, Mike DeWitt, Billy DeWitt, Mandy Bradley, Rockey DeWitt Jr., Melinda DeWitt and Josh DeWitt.

He was a honorary member of the Summersville High School FFA. His most treasured time was spending time with his wife. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and girls. He loved driving his bus route and enjoyed every kid that rode any bus he drove. He enjoyed playing his guitar for family and friends.

Preceding Rockey in death are his father Billy DeWitt, grandmother Dollie Stringer, sister Brenda DeWitt, uncle Joe Stringer, father-in-law Millard Terrill, brothers-in-law, Ronnie Terrill, Lovell Watson, Gary Watson, Mark Remster and Gilbert Martindale.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife of 39 years, Mary DeWitt; his mother Evelyn Stringer DeWitt, mother-in-law Ruby Terrill, his six children, Mike DeWitt and wife Valerie;
Billy DeWitt and wife Lisa; Mandy Bradley and husband Allen; Rockey DeWitt Jr. and wife Terra; Melinda DeWitt; and Josh DeWitt; grandchildren, Ashley DeWitt, Ethan DeWitt, Kyle DeWitt, Kenny Parks, Katie Parks, Kelsey Parks, Kaleb Parks, Kelsa DeWitt Whitman, Tara Taylor; Sara Nash, Austin Bradley, Kiersten Bradley, Kailey Bradley, Taytum DeWitt, Desie DeWitt, Braiden DeWitt, Bryer Ramsey, Ashlynn Ramsey; great grandchildren, Morgahan Lyn DeWitt, Eston Taylor, Jase Taylor; his brother Rickey DeWitt and sister Sharon Morgan and husband Leonard, and a host of nieces, nephews, many other family member and friends.
He will forever be in our hearts and never forgot, but sadly missed.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00 Am at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with Rev. James Bradford Officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Bradford Chapel. Interment will be in Summers Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home in Summersville.
