New Douglas, Ill.--Frederick John Rosenthal died Thursday at 4:40 p.m. at the family residence in New Douglas. Death was due to old age and complications. Mr. Rosenthal had been in ill health for some time.
He was the son of the late Henry and Fredericka Rosenthal and was born February 14, 1862, in Staunton Township. At the time of his death he had reached the age of 80 years, nine months and 27 days. On February 26, 1888, he was married to Miss Emilie Remmert a the Zion Lutheran church in Mt. Olive.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Mathilda Schallenberg, Mrs. Olinda Ulrich, both of New Douglas, Mrs. Frieda Niehaus of Mt. Olive; four sons, Charles of Brentwood, Mo., Otto of Mt. Olive, and Edward and Lorenz, both of New Douglas; 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ida Hormon of Belle Fourche, North Dakota.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:40 p.m. a the Latowsky Funeral Home, and at 2 o'clock at the Immanuel Lutheran church in New Douglas. Mr. Rosenthal was a member of the church. Rev. W.C. Liefeld will have charge of the services. Burial will be in the New Douglas Cemetery.
