Jimmy R. Nichols, Sr., 63, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at a local hospital. Memorial services will be 6 P.M. Wednesday at Girdner-Brown Funeral Home, 111 Elm.
Mr. Nichols was born Aug. 9, 1937 in Abilene. He graduated from Abilene High School, and was a self-employed mechanic. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his two daughters, Wendy Cooper and Jamie Folley; seven sons, Jimmy Lee Nichols, Danny Wayne Nichols and Randall Dale Nichols all of California, Jimmy Nichols, Jr., Roy Lee Nichols, Roy Dean Folley and Jason Folley all of Abilene; a brother, Kenneth Nichols of Yuba City, CA; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
