BARBARA "B. J." WHITE 50, of 735 Highland Ave., died Monday morning at Marion General Hospital after a short illness.

Born Oct. 22, 1940, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. Corbin and Erial (Butler) Slater of Marysville.

Her mother survives along with her husband, William White, whom she married Feb. 14, 1959, in Meeker.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she served as a clerk and a Sunday school teacher. She was active in Easter Seals in Marion and helped organized the Marion Therapy Center. She was also a member of several other area civic groups.

The lifetime Marion resident worked for eight years at the Marion County Department of Human Services and the Crawford County Department of Human Services; where she was currently employed.

Also surviving are three sons. Tim William, Bart Michael, and Chris Alan of Marion; three brothers, Jack Corbin of Jackson, Ky., Dick Corbin of Edison, and Robert Corbin of Marysville; three sisters, Joyce Lehner of Marion, Nancy McCormick of Rochester, N.Y., and Kathy Edwards of Marion.

Funeral services are Thursday at 10 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Douglas and the Rev. Charles Hard officiating. Burial will be in Meeker Cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion General Hospice Program or the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
