The death of Mrs. Michael (Ottilia) Schwegel of Hines occurred Tuesday morning at the Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck.She was 78 years old.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday, April 21, 1973 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Blackduck. The Rev Paul Ishler will officiate and burial will be at Lakeview cemetery, Blackduck. The Mass will be held at 7:30 pm Saturday evening.
A rosary service will be held at 8:45 pm Friday at the Chapel of the Snustad Funeral Home in Blackduck.
The deceased was born August 2, 1894 at St. Martin, MN and came to the Blackduck area in 1917. She was married to Mike Schwegel August 8, 1921 at St. Ann's in Blackduck.
She is survived by her husband; eight sons, Clarence and George of Cold Spring; Albert, Arthur, Roman and Leroy, all of Whitefish, MT; Benedict, St. Paul; and Henry, Blackduck; three daughters, Mrs. Emmett Wernberg (Lillian), Blackduck; Mrs. James Rutherford (Hildegard), St. Paul; and Mrs. Robert Czech (Mildred), Tenstrike; four brothers, Mike Gillitzer of Blackduck; Pius of Waite Park; James of Florida; and Hugo, St. Joseph; three sisters, Mrs. Oswald Stueve (Catherine), Melrose; Mrs. William Schwegel (Ida), St. Joseph; and Mrs. Matt Steckel (Gertrude), Waite Park; also 44 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. One son, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
