KERRVILLE - Mr. James Albert Rushing Jr., 77, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Plains, Texas, to James A. Rushing Sr. and Gracie Camp Rushing. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired public school administrator.
He was a member of Faith Christian Church and American Quarter Horse Association. He earned a Bachelors's degree from Sul Ross University and a Master's degree from Texas Tech University.
He married Syble Richardson on July 28, 1985, in Kerrville. She survives, along with a daughter, Terri Ann Rushing and partner, Angela Love, of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, James Michiel Rushing of Jarrell, Texas, and Cecil Jay Rushing and wife, Stephanie, of Roanoke, Texas; a stepson, Clyde Ray Crockett Jr. of Brownwood, Texas; a stepdaughter, Ladonna Crockett-Jones and husband, Ron Jones, of Sugarland, Texas; and four grandsons, Tyler Jake Rushing, Justin Tate Rushing, Trenton Jay Rushing and Jason Crockett Jones.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 10 a.m., at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Pastor Joseph Fegenbush officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
