Lee Roy Murray, 75, of Scammon, Kansas, passed away at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
He was born near St. Joseph, Tenn. to John Henry and Ethel Irene Seymore Murray. He attended schools and grew up in the Sherwin community, near Columbus, Ks.
He moved to Scammon in 1950.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He married Opal May Sutphin on October 20, 1944, at Plymouth, Va. She survives.
Their Children include:
William Murray and Allan Murray, both of rural Scammon, Ks.
Ethel Thurmond of Winter Haven, Fla.
Linda Yanagihara of Honolulu, Hawaii
Jackie Carse of Bartlesville, Okla.
Donna Wilhite of Stilwell, Okla.
Two sisters:
Myrtle Evins of Joplin, Mo.
Maxine Lattin of Oswego, Ks.
13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The body will be cremated.
