Salem Evangelist Church was adorned with palms and pink peonies last evening for the marriage of Miss Gertrude Haag to Arthur T. Pammenter, which took place at 6:30 o'clock. Reve. Frederick Frankenfeld, the pastor, conducted the service. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Haag, of No. 71 Scio street, and her father gave her in marriage. Mrs. Frank Dana, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss May Pammeter, sister of the groom, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Alma Haag, Miss Florence Zimmer, Miss Anna Staudemeier and Miss Edna Hugel. Arthur Morrison was the best man. the ushers were James Tighe, Howard Bacon, John Riley and Fran Dana. Little Miss Muriel Moll was flower maiden.

Professor Carl Paul was at the organ. As the wedding party entered he played the march from "Lohengrin," and for the recessional the Mendelssohn march. The bride was in white charmeuse with bodice of Chantilly lace and a court train of brocade satin, and wore a tulle veil in cap effect with orange blossoms. He bouquet was a shower of roses and lilies of the valley. The matron of honor's dress was hand-painted pink chiffon over white satin, and the maid of honor wore blue crepe meteor. Both carried pink Killarney roses. All four bridesmaids were in pink brocade crepe de chine and wore coatees of pink accordion chiffon, carrying shower bouquets of pin sweet peas. Muriel Moll wore white batiste with Irish lace and carried a basket of pin sweet peas.

Mrs. Haag, mother of the bride, was in blue crepe de chine trimmed with gold lace, and Mrs. Pammenter, mother of the groom, wore green messaline.

A wedding dinner and reception followed the ceremony. About 100 guests were received at Teall's hall, among them Mr. and Mrs. George Rehbaum and Mrs. August Reinhardt, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Sands and Mrs. Parmenter, of Bergen; Miss Paola Schilly, of Syracuse. The Susan Tompkins Orchestra was in attendance.

Mr. and Mrs. Pammenter are to spend their honeymoon in the Adirondack mountains. After September 1st they will be at home at NO. 280 Hazelwood terrace.

To her matron of honor and the honor maid the bride gave silk parasols, and to the maids each a string of pearls. The flower girl received an amethyst heart. The groom gave his ushers gold monogram belts and the best man an umbrella.

Couple Married In St. Thomas'
In a ceremony yesterday in the chapel of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Mrs. Gertrude Pammenter of East Avenue was married to William J. Babcock of Castlebar Road. Canon Arthur R. Cowdery officiated.

The bride is the widow of Arthur T. Pammenter. Mr. Babcock was the husband of the late, Mrs. Vida Slemin Babcock.

Mrs. Gertrude Haag Pammenter Babcock, 80, of 1600 East Ave., the wife of William J. Babcock, chairman of the Genesee State Park Commission, died yesterday at Highland Hospital.

Mrs. Babcock's first husband was the late Arthur T. Pammenter, a lawyer and one-time member of the New York State Assembly.

Mrs. Babcock was a native of Rochester.

During World War II, she was a nurse's aide in Genesee Hospital and also supervisor of women for Commercial Controls Corp., now the Friden Division of the Singer Co.

Mrs. Babcock was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Highland Avenue, the Third Chapter of the Church and the Fifteenth Twig of Rochester General Hospital.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Babcock is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard B. Redfern of Pittsford; a son, Thomas E. Pammenter of Lakewood, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Augustus Fitch Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; a stepson, William J. Babcock of Fishers; a sister, Mrs. Harold Senke of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Benjamin M. Haag of Rochester; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
