BIOGRAPHY

November 18, 1922, Gretchen was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, and was raised with her four brothers. Her mother Verna and father Myron Jones moved the family to Montour, Idaho in the 1930s. Myron was a farmer and he helped build the railroad between Cascade and McCall, and then he bought the Montour garage, where he supported his family.

Gretchen graduated as Valedictorian from Montour High. In her sophomore year, she was voted most popular girl, best girl dancer, best all around student, shortest girl, and neatest girl.

During the war, Gretchen left her home and moved to Boise to find employment. She stayed at the Y and found a job at Gowen Field. She fell in love with a young, handsome and very charming young man (Cramer Sexton) who was home from the war. They married on January 6, 1945 and had 50 happy years. Cramer had two small boys who had lost their mother and Gretchen cared for and loved them as her own, in addition to her and Cramer's two sons, Randy and Bart.

Gretchen worked as an accountant at Falk's Idaho Store and later at the 'Mode. She worked from 1950 to 1983, when she retired. She loved her husband and her children and spent every minute loving and caring for them. She had a love of gardening and flowers, needlework and sewing. But most of all she loved to hook her beautiful rugs. Recently Gretchen had finished years of paperwork and became certified as a "Daughter of the American Revolution."

She loved the time and many friends here, but her heart longed to be with her Heavenly Father, and to spend another 50 years with her husband.
