Mary Sue Whitaker was born March 8, 1926 to George Hamilton and Irene Jordan Whitaker. She was the youngest of 9 children. She attended school in Hereford, TX where her father was a cotton farmer and cattle rancher. She attended the Wharton Business School in Ft. Worth after graduation from High School. She met and married James Orlando Prewitt while living with her sister in Ft. Worth. They were married June 26, 1948. They lived in Ft. Worth, Beaumont, Amarillo, Dallas, Albuquerque and Irving, TX.
They had 2 daughters Pamela Sue and Cynthia Ann, and 4 grandchildren, Melissa and husband Luke Dickey, Lindsey and Nathan Vaughan, and Logan Hastings, and 2 great grandchildren, Hannah and Mateo Dickey.
