News-Review Newspaper, Hico, Texas - Willaim Carpenter arrived at home on the early morning train Monday morning, and was laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery Monday at 2 o'clock.

Mrs. Carpenter and her two children accompanied the remains home.

Our entire community was shocked by his tragic death at the town of Artesia, New Mexico where he was stabbed by a man named Jones so severely that it was not possible to save his life.

William was reared here where he had many friends who admired him for his courage and many fine qualities.

He was married a few years ago to Miss Lucy Giesecke and from this union were born two children who and their mother survive him. Besides his wife and children he leaves his aged father, his stepmother, several brothers and sisters and other relatives with many friends who mourn his untimely death.

The News-Review joins the friends of the family with its sympathy to the bereaved family in this loss that has occured to them.
