Emily Elizabeth Guillotte Bridges

The night skies burned brighter following the passing of Emily Elizabeth "Libby" Guillotte Bridges in San Diego, CA on September 21, 2013. Libby was a long time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was born in Gautier on December 7, 1927, to Sally Emily Havens and Napolean Guillotte. After graduating from Pascagoula High School in 1946, Libby attended nursing school at Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg, MS. Upon graduation, she joined the Navy Nurse Corp where she was stationed in Albany, New York, Guam, Japan, and San Diego. Her navy travels ended in 1961 when she married Robert W. Love.
She returned to her roots in 1972 to live in Ocean Springs, MS. While living in Ocean Springs, she worked at Singing River Hospital and the VA Hospital in Biloxi as well as Gulfport. Prior to leaving the Mississippi Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina, Libby was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Ocean Springs Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lester Bridges, and her brother, Robert Guillotte. Libby is survived by her darling, David Gerard and her children: Robert W. Love, III, his wife Stephenie and their two children, Robbie and Gillian; her daughter, Curry M. Habel and her five children, Elizabeth "Lizzie", Catherine, Mark, Patrick and Victoria; and her daughter, Rebecca A. Owens, her husband, Jason and their children, Joe and Dove McCreary, and Tovia. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Theresa Hague of Pascagoula and LuLa Mae Price of Gautier.
She will be fondly remembered by many friends and family members as we look to the night sky and notice the stars twinkling. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Red Cross
