NORTH ANSON - Darrol E. Bartlett, 66, of North Anson, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan following a long battle with cancer. Darrol was born on Jan. 17, 1947, in Skowhegan, the son of Noreen (Rowe) and Richard Bartlett. He graduated from Hermon High School in 1965 and married Sylvia Moffitt on Sept. 30, 1966.
Darrol retired from Sappi Fine Paper due to illness. He was a member of the Indian Springs Odd Fellows Lodge 115 and Northern Star Masonic Lodge 28, an Anson selectman for 13 years, a former member of the Anson Fire Department and the Anson-Madison-Starks Ambulance Board of Directors.
Darrol is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sylvia, and their four children, Mark and wife Jutta, of Pacolet, S.C., Valerie and husband Michael Abruzzese, of North Anson, Michael, of North Anson, and Nicki and her husband, Randy Ragland, of Fairmont, N.C. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; his sister, Joanna Treadwell, of Hermon; brother Richard Bartlett Jr., of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.
