Girlie Mae Napier Gibbs, 78, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and was a graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown, Ky. Girlie was a retired school teacher with 30 years service in the Oak Ridge School System. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by two weeks by her husband of 57 years, William D. Gibbs. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jack Gibbs and wife, Joyce of Spring Hill, Fla.; two nephews and one niece. The family would like to express a special thank you to Adventa Hospice and caretakers, Margaret Tucker, Janice Fine and Penny Brown. Family, friends and former students gathered at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City for graveside services with Rev. A.J. Crawford officiating. Friends may call at their convenience at Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Girlie Napier Gibbs.
